Speaking engagements
I believe great design is often invisible. It solves problems for real people in their real lives, allowing them to navigate tasks so fluidly that the effort itself disappears. When design works, the user doesn’t notice the mechanics, they simply experience a world that feels “easy.”
However, creating that simplicity is a complex, rigorous pursuit. Achieving that great “invisible” design demands:
Indominable curiosity - a commitment to remaining humble and perpetually willing to learn, paired with the confidence in yourself to find answers and solve the problem.
Disciplinary bridging - the ability to switch contexts instantly, bridge gaps between specialties, and translate complex technical requirements into human-centered solutions.
Adaptability - the resilience to iterate and evolve as new data, constraints, and human behaviors emerge.
Whether you’re looking to inspire a classroom or boardroom of executives, I’d love to discuss how we can bring insights to your organization.

UVA School of Data Science
For the past three years, I have had the privilege of returning to the University of Virginia’s School of Data Science to engage with the next generation of data leaders. My sessions focus on a critical intersection: The Importance of Pairing Data and Design.
In these lectures, I challenge students to move beyond the technical “how” of analysis and explore the “why.” We dive deep into data visualization, storytelling, and how both data and design become more impactful when they work together.
